Three easy steps

Download

Tap Download for Android. Wait for BrainyStars.apk to finish downloading.

Install

Open the file from your notifications or Downloads and tap Install (or Update). If Android asks, allow your browser to install apps, then come back.

Open & shine

Tap Open. New learners: type your first name and JHS level. Updating? Everything is just where you left it.

💡 Updating: install the new file over the old app. Never uninstall BrainyStars first - uninstalling deletes your stars and progress.

Questions learners and parents ask

Will updating delete my progress?

No. Installing a new version over the old one keeps your stars, progress, saved questions, Saturday papers and subscription. Only uninstalling the app deletes them.

Android says "App not installed". What do I do?

Make sure there is enough free space and that the download finished completely, then try again. If it still fails, your old copy may have come from somewhere other than this page - contact us below before uninstalling anything, so you don't lose progress.

Is BrainyStars free?

English Language, Social Studies and Physical and Health Education are free. The other subjects, the BECE Exam Challenge and the Saturday Challenge need a subscription for your JHS level, paid in the app with mobile money (MTN, Telecel or AirtelTigo).

Does my subscription move to a new phone or PC?

A subscription belongs to the device it was bought on. Updating the app on the same device keeps it. A different phone, tablet or PC needs its own subscription.

Do I need internet?

Not for studying. You need internet to subscribe, for the Saturday Challenge (to get and hand in papers and see the leaderboard) and for an occasional subscription check.

Is there an iPhone or iPad version?

Not yet. BrainyStars runs on Android phones and tablets and on Windows PCs.
